Dwarven & Elven Armor

Dwarven Armor vs Human Armor

There is no dispute that Dwarven armor is far superior to human made armor and it commands a superior price.  This is especially true in mail. Dwarven mail is always made of welded rings, they only make butted mail on contract for the Royal Army and then it is sold in unfinished sheets that are assembled by Army armourors into finished armor.
All Dwarven armor, regardless of grade, (Except military contract) is rustproofed to a degree unmatched by human artificers.  Rustproofing is permenant and there is no deterioration at any time. How they do this is a secret. The armor is not blackened, gilted or lacquered. It appears completely unaltered with a dull shine, but it never rusts or deteriorates. Normal rustproofing can be used, for visual effect, but it is not needed.
All Dwarven armor,  (Except military contract) is 10% lighter in weight then it’s human equivilant.
Only the Dwarves make Prince and King Grade armor.
Dwarves DO NOT MAKE Bronze armor.
Dwarves DO NOT make Light Leather, Heavy Leather, Reinforced Leather or Scale armor.
Dwarves DO NOT make the equivilant of Duke Grade armor.

Good Dwarven armor, regardless of type, is 2x the listed price.

Elven Armor

Unlike the Dwarves, the Elves do not make armor to sell to non-Elves. They have been known to give it as gifts, but that is very rare.
All Elven mail and armor is Lacquered in various colors and patterns. This lacquering does not wear off over time.
All Elven mail is welded. They only make these types of mail, Light Mail, which is almost always Augmented, Lamellar Mail,  sometimes referred to as “Leaf Mail” because the shapes of the plates are that of leaves, and Fine Mesh Mail.  Elves never make Hauberks.
The only Plate armor that Elves make is Half Plate.
The Elves also use various types of leather armor.  Scale Armor uses the leaf shape for the plates.
All Elven Armor is 10% lighter then its human equivilant.
Elven armor can be made so that it DOES NOT interfere with a mage’s use of magic, regardless of the weight. How they accomplish that is a carefully guarded secret. The prices listed below reflect such ‘Mage’ armor.
“Normal” Elven armor is worth 7x the human equivilant, is 10% lighter and the metal parts are lacquered.
Elves DO NOT MAKE Bronze armor.
